"brudders togeder!" he said tonight in his mix-matched jammies.

we moved asher into a pack-and-play last night AND into ambrose's room.

ambrose was pleased as pleased can be.

asher cried angrily for over an hour.

tonight asher cried for less than three minutes.

how quickly they grow up.

is it your cup of tea too?

okay, remember when i said i wanted to start a "my cup of tea sewing society"? i was half serious and half just saying it so let's get serious about getting silly here.

it's going to be purely ridiculous. and maybe a little inspiring to those of us who love to talk about sewing 24/7.

there is no commitment required. no social commitment, no whole separate blog to check/contribute to, no time commitment, no nothing- just every once in a while i'll post sewing questions or conversation starters and everyone who wants to weigh in can. for example: what is your favorite kind of project (knitting, quilting, hand-stitching, felt toys, clothing....etc.), what inspires you, what's the best kind of thread/scissors...etc. to use in your opinion...etc.

when my new nest is finished in 100 years, i may have a few society gatherings that are a no-pressure-come-if-it-suits-your-schedule kind of thing and every once in a while we will spotlight certain members and the projects they are working on if they so choose so we can all oooooh and aaaaaahhhh over them.

whatcha think?

is this your cup of tea? novices and experts, men and women, locals and mainlanders and internationals welcome.

and just to prove exactly how frivolously fun this is going to be, i'll make you a personal invite and membership card to put in your hello-kitty wallet or next to your holly hobbie machine.

just comment with your email address and i'll take it from there.

it's getting pretty silly up in here- who's with me? :)

in memory of christmas

we both agreed it was the best one of all. is there anything more fun than seeing your two year old open and exclaim over his presents? (he would have been totally happy with his stocking alone. ha!) or the christmas miracle of asher REALLY learning how to sit up and play with his toys and then keep sitting up all day long. or the fun we had having a little party to celebrate Christ's birth? and then there is the fact that we get to just relax and enjoy each other's company all day long with no distractions. ahhhhhh. :)

it was a happy happy holiday and instead of being too sad it's over, which inevitably we are, we are keeping the fun going today. just got back from a perfect beach day and now the boys are bathed and napping. i love the holidays. hope yours was special too!

on the day before christmas eve day...

my friends and i had a keiki christmas party where we sang, and read a snowman story, and made marshmallow snowmen that i copied from my sister without actually asking her some very important questions, like, how do you get them to stand up so they don't look like dead snowman bodies and we had an awesome snowball fight of the paper variety and some kids made very cute feisty faces and then we decorated cookies and did another fun craft. crafty crafty craft craft schmaft. see for yourself:

oops, there's ivy paying her final respects to the snowman carcasses:

but we all had a jolly time anyway! see, here's proof:

mele kalikimaka y'all.

gettin' his hair did.

this little chipmunk needed a trim.

so we gave him a sucker

and he was cool until the clippers started "makin a noise!"

which was apparently downright distressing until his barber finished up and let him play with the hose

hats off to you thomas. this is a task i would never attempt and you did it fast and well!

what a handsome little haole boy.

here's my class

on the very last day:

aren't they cute?

i honestly love every single person in that picture.

oh, and of course we had to do a "crazy one":

i already miss them, but horray for christmas vacation! this is the best job ever.
