Last night my child woke up and demanded to be fed at 3:30 AM- this has not happened since he was brand new so it threw his parents off. After I fed him and put him back to bed neither Thomas nor I could go back to sleep so we decided to get up and get a drink out of the kitchen. Upon drinking our water (me) and lemonade (him) and laughing to ourselves about being up like this (in the wee hours of the morning) I decided to get my memory book off the bookshelf. It's just a little book of my birth records, certificates from pre-school, my first hair cut sample, and letters that I had written Santa (I asked for a toy duck like three years in a row- take a hint already Santa)... you know, the good stuff. Well, we found a tattered little gem in there that I thought I would publically preserve here in my ExCiTiNg (was that exciting enough?) blog. It is a letter written to me by my sister Ashley in October 1988 (my mom wrote the date on the top when she saved it in my book). This is what it says (this may have been funnier to us at 4 in the morning, but it still holds some humor for me mid-day as I type this):
*Please note that all the O's are actually hearts- not really an Ashley thing to do, but this was 1988- she was eight years old (I was four)
"To Stephanie
This is a note to you for being my friend and sister. I love you even thou we get in fit's sometimes. You are my best sister. Natalie and Brittany are nice too sometimes. Well by now have a nice day today Love Ashley"
and then (no doubt a few years later) I took it upon myself to sign my name right next to hers
Please note that the spelling and grammar were left in their orignal state...just too awesome for words.

I am just too cute for words! I am mostly impressed that at the age of 8 I was using apostrophes (even though it was used incorrectly). I think that letter could have been written by me yesterday though because that is still how I feel about all of you.
I'm still your best sister? booyeah!
ahh, too fun! You two have me laughing out loud
that sounds like a nice dream....
We have good kids.
