HEY!

How did we come up with Sweet Chicken? Good question. I think I heard it once a really long time ago and somehow remembered it when I was in the hospital right after he was born. I called him that and it stuck. Of course we have a whole list of equally ridiculous names that we like to call him, but this is the main one for me. Other names include: Amby, Bubba, Boo Boo, Boy, Baby, Chubby (chub chub, fatty, tubs) little guy, little love... oh gosh, the cheesy list could go on and on. I guess it just comes with the territory- don't knock it til you try it.

Ambrose is two and a half months old and weighs 16lbs, is 25.5 inches long and is dairy free (well, his mother is anyway). He is a happy boy, but when he's over something, hungry, or super tired- we know it. He lets us know.

I love being his mom. It is so fun to watch him figure out how to grab things with his hands, or lift up his big melon head, or all the talking he has been doing since we got to the mainland. He loves to make a variety of noises and it is fun to carry on a little conversation of sounds with him. He is happiest when he first wakes up in the morning and that is the time to get him really talking and laughing and smiling. He also never stops moving and loves to do gymnastics while we are trying to change his diaper.

Anyway, as if I didn't write enough about him on here- there's a little something about the sweet chicken and why we call him that. Life has been pretty sweet with my little (big, fat!) chicken and I feel lucky to have him.

Thanks for answering my question!! I will never grow tired of reading/hearing any mother (especially you)share their feelings about their child. It's amazing how exciting a sneeze or noise a baby makes is. Who knew, right?!

I am so excited to show him off when we get back because he is so different- you won't even believe it! He is way more happy, relaxed and really really talkative. My dad got him laughing so hard last night- it was fun!
