Happy Birthday to the Ashley I love most! You are a great sister. No seriously- you really are. Here are a few highlights from our life together so far:
me coming home from the hospital and ruining your fourth birthday party
playing little people and you telling me that my person was "wacky, wild kool-aide style"
sharing a room for so many years
playing with samantha or trixie in the backyard (RIP to both of those unfortunate animals)
camping trips and strobe lights
shark in the pool
all your phobias and mine for that matter
"quit man handling helen keller"
your infamous choke and punch hold
you getting me and thomas hooked on numerous tv shows (alias, freaks and geeks, so you think you can dance...etc)
the embarrassing manner in which we can chat about stars like they are our friends
all the fun visits to hawaii
thai food obsessions
fat girl laugh at the dole pineapple plantation
you funding my next trip to europe... oh wait, not yet.
the many times you waited with me as I nursed Ambrose in nasty bathrooms, hot rest stops, parking lots...etc.
You are such a wonderful person and friend. I love you (despite what several journal entries say from about age six to thirteen...sorry- haha!)

I think you are a pretty awsome person too, even tho I don't have as many tales to tell. You are one of a kind in a good way.
i was going to say happy birthday ashley, but i've been upstaged! (and i'm late.) i'm sure your effect on stephanie's life has made her the girl (oh, sorry, i mean "woman") she is today, so i thank you.

I loved this post! I am sorry that I didn't read it yesterday but I was busy with all my birthday celebrations. I am so glad that the Helen Keller memory got recognized, because I still think about it and laugh all the time. I am also so glad that I spent hours taking pictures on Photo Booth when I was at your house so you could have some pictures for this post. Thanks for all the nice comments you pyt!
