beginning sewing got postponed until winter semester. my heart is broken, but i will still learn to sew in the winter so i guess that is ok.
remember caboodles? i was trying to describe them to thomas and it made me want one again.
also, funny, but tried and true- ambrose's favorite songs are: nouvelle vague's dancing with myself and the shins sleeping lessons. true story. also, his father's guitar rendition of how much is that doggy in the window/bear vs. shark second. what a kid.
thomas sold his nikon d40 yesterday and we anxiously await the new arrival of his nikon d80.
also, why didn't you tell me about this american life sooner? ira glass is my new favorite.

I still have my baby caboodle, but you are right those big ones were cool! A must have! (who hates that phrase?)
umm, hello, it's (this american life) been posted as an activity on my facebook page for at least a year now.
i actually have my students working on a "this american life" project right now! how cool is that?
favorite episodes: houses of ill repute, music lessons, and what i learned from television. i think that sarah vowell and i are separated soul mates (most of the time)
your students! that sounds so cool, dude.
i took both of your advice and i've downloaded some this american life. i've supported npr for quite some time, but mostly in theory, since i don't have radio time much. podcast time, though, here we come.
We've had This American Life linked on our blog for a while now, too. :) I listened to almost all of them when I was working at BYU-H. There wasn't much else to do. There are too many good ones for me to name. The tricky part is finding time to listen when a little someone who shall remain nameless likes to scream whenever I turn on a podcast.
I was just going to call you and get the sewing class lady's info. Boo.
well, if im to be perfectly honest, i looked up this american life a while back when mates of state toured with them and i did notice it on your blog lizzie- but i never actually took serious time to listen to it until yesterday when thomas and i were driving far distances and he said, let's listen to it. he commutes a ridiculous amount each day and so i think he listens to it on the iPod daily (a must have nat! ) ;)
when i think of those caboodles, i think of this one time i was camping with a bunch of my cousins when i was like 12. michael (about 2 years older) put a frog in mindy's (my age) caboodle!! there was a lot of screaming and leaping around (like frogs) in our tent that night.
stephanie, i love your music sampler. i'll have to get one of those on my blog!
hilarious! i am STILL afraid of frogs so that would have been close to my worst nightmare. :)
glad you like the mix- get one get one- they're fun!
stephanie, i'm pretty sure i DID tell you about this american life....or you told me. whichever, i'm glad to know we're both "listening in."
I have a picture of Ambrose from your blog on my computer background at school. Today after we were finished with the powerpoint I closed out of powerpoint so the picture was showing up on the projector and all my students freaked out about it. They kept on saying how cute Ambrose was and how the picture looked like it should be published in a magazine.
hooray! your students are so bright. :)
