for my family: he's already getting to the "my-by-self!" stage :)

some facts:
today ambrose had 1/2 a flu shot and will get the rest when we get back from christmas on the mainland... this must mean he will only get 1/2 as sick as he would have otherwise (HA!)
ambrose weighs a hefty 25lbs, has 3 teeth and 2 on the way, and wears size 5 diapers and after a wild ear infection/cough/cold/boogers everywhere week he is back to sleeping through the night, by himself, in his crib (whew, sleep-deprived mean mommy was really starting to get desperate).
i took the time to paint my toenails today even though i am sure i should have been doing other things.
my contact lenses and lomo have not arrived. i am an antsy antsy anticipator.
i got a cute and free hand-me-down pair of nine west sun glasses from a nice girl at mommy and me.
i am slowly realizing that my crafty christmas gift plans are quickly being replaced by a mountain of work deadlines that need to be taken care of before we fly out to the greater US in about 3 weeks. in other words, family, expect something very easy and simple for christmas and maybe something kind of crafty for st. patricks day... or possibly easter... or maybe next christmas... yikes.
i bought the home alone soundtrack while i was on campus doing supervisions this week and man is that some christmas fun. also, if you haven't done so already, feel free to snag yourself radiohead's new album (you pay what you want or you pay nothing if you are like me and feel entitled to a free album since you have purchased every other album they have ever made)- it's sure to make your season bright.
most important fact: every new day watching ambrose be his happy/emotional/crazy/clever/silly self is the best day of my life! me and thomas are two lucky ducks.

Sigh. I miss you guys let's hang out.
25 lbs! You lucky mom you. Despite all the pizza & chicken mcnuggets our keiki still hovers at just UNDER 22 lbs. Hard to believe when his mom & dad are 30 lbs OVERweight. The biologist in me is screaming, "genetic predispostion my butt!"
I love the update! I am impressed that even ATTEMPTED a crafty Christmas. I hope to have that kind of motivation again at some point in my life...
Ambrose is so dang cute!
Love the drinking fountain pic!!!!
WOW, 25Lbs, Rainey has plateaued at 22Lbs. I am sure Ambi has at least 3" on my short little man. Rainey got all four of his front teeth in 3weeks. Hopefully I get a break before the next four try to come thru.
I hope your lil man feels better and can stay healthy thru the holiday season.
Welp, Amby (am I friend enough to be able to call him that?) just passed up Eliza in weight. She still comfortably fits in a size 3 and weighs in at 21 pounds. I swear I feed her!
In other news, the photos of your delightful baby bring an instant smile to my face! I love them. And YES you should always take time for yourself. This includes painting your toe nails. you more than deserve it!
Wow! Ambrose weighs 25 lbs.? Porter just turned 4 and he weighs 31 lbs. I bet you've got some great arm muscles!
look at amby, impressing all his fans. that's maybe mine and martin's favorite picture to date--i want it framed for christmas please--the only crafty thing about that is ambrose's expression.
i've heard of the me by self phase, and i wouldn't be surprised if ambrose was already there. myra was as soon as we tried doing anything for her beyond changing her diaper. now that she can talk, its verbally manifested in "no baby help."
how do you make him make those faces? do you pay him in money?
Hey there cousins. I've had some issues with grandmaspandas.com and pretty much have to start from scratch to get it up and running again. Since I'm starting all over I figured it'd be a good idea to get a descent logo this time.
Since you guys are artistic (at least photographically) would you be willing to create a logo? As long as it's square it will work out just fine.
Thanks!

so, he can push the drinking fountain now, so is potty training right around the corner? i don't expect anything crazy, just by the new year...
as usual, ambrose is adorable, you warm my heart, and thomas's photography astounds me.
hehe-- love the face! If you do finish all your piles of work before you go, you should bring you and your crafty self to my house and make stuff with me. I too have a homemade holiday planned and since I'm not a working mother like youI have free loads of free time to do it in.
Warn Mr. Chubs that he has only 21 days before his Grandma Hawkins gets ahold of him and pinches and squeezes every little fat roll. I do have one question, why are chubby thighs cute on a baby and not a 52 year old woman? HaHa :)
i am obsessed with the last pic of ambro in this post!
