for the past couple weeks i have had one surprise after another generously lavished on me. what's the occasion? well, mother's day is in a couple of days, but mostly i just think my cute thomas is trying his hand at continuing to make me fall in love with him by catching me off guard and being considerate. i, perhaps, am being less considerate by confessing all of this so publicly since he tends to shrink from the spotlight, but i just want him to know that i am swept away and grateful for him!
two weeks ago he picked up some things i needed from the grocery store on the way home from work and decided to also pick up these for me- just because:

a couple of days later he came home to find me sprawled on the bed, ignoring ambrose, worn out from a long day and said "here, i picked this up for you!" while tossing me a starbucks bag with the biggest, gooey-est, most delicious lemon bar i have ever eaten! what a cure for a long, long, long day with a teething child.
just when i was beginning to feel like my mother's day presents had come early, he not only remember that i wanted the pride and prejudice 10th anniversary collectors edition (with 120 page booklet about the making of!) A&E dvds, but got me this little baby to take to my sisters wedding in june so i dont have to lug around the big, technical d80! best mothers day ever. well, the second one ever for me- but the best none-the-less.

well done mr. robertson. well done.
i posted this and then came back to say that: most importantly though, thomas shows his love in the way he plays with our son, in our late night conversations where we are both laughing and carrying on until we realize that we better get some sleep, in the way he jumps up to switch the laundry for me or load the dishes, in the way he goes out everyday and works with some of the most difficult people in hawaii just to provide a good life for us, and in the way he honors his commitments to me, our child, his friends and family and to heavenly father. i trust him with my future and love him. mushy mushy, the end. :)

I must say your ode has given my husband a run for his money as best husband in the world. He sounds like a really really great person and I'm so happy for your good fortune to be married to him. You seem pretty great yourself though. happy mothers' day.
ah, what a sweet thomas. i started to try to use this post to give jesse ideas, but then i saw the pure stress on his face and decided to save it for next year.
