who/what is flat stanley you ask?

i guess he is from a book and then my nephew jackson drew him in class and sent him to me to have a vacation. we were supposed to take pictures of our adventures and send him back to class with the pictures. so we took him for a walk around laie and here's what we did:
we started off on our street showing him the plant life of laie. ambrose got a big kick out of flat stanley trying to hitch a ride on my belly.

then we showed him temple beach, buried him in the sand, and let him hike in the surrounding greenery.

he insisted upon a tour of the byu-hawaii campus:

and took a little breather in a nearby bush upon arriving:

having rested up- he ran around the many surrounding fields:

we asked him where he wanted to explore next: the polynesian cultural center, laie falls, hukilau cafe, the shopping center...etc. feeling overwhelmed by the options, he decided to consult ambrose who told him scornfully that some of those places were kinda touristy. ambrose decided to show him where all the cool kids in laie hang:

he even found a friend there:

i hope they'll keep in touch. flat stanley heads back to las vegas today.

how fun! haha- can't help but smile real wide about the adventures of flat stanley. Looks like he had a great time. He's a photogenic little fella- never a hair out of place. One day we shall have to document the adventures of Not-So-Flat Laurel Schwarzbach.

That is so cool. Just today we got a letter from Mike's niece with Flat Stanley in an envelope to come visit us! Is this a nationwide school thing? Or a cool coincidence?

this is brittany- not kimball... steph you are the best person in the world to send flat stanley to and how did jackson know that when he chose you guys? yes for those who are wondering... flat stanley is already a book and so in 1st grade they get to make their own stanley and everyone sends it to someone and when he comes home fro his trips, they get to see what he did. jackson's will probably be the best... not that i am bragging, i am really just complimenting stephanie!

I love Flat Stanley! These pictures are great and his adventures look like so much fun. A couple weeks ago a guy came to visit the Embassy from DC, and I was showing him around and he was like, "Sorry to bother you with this, but would you mind taking a picture with Flat Stanley? My nephew asked me to bring him on thi s trip." I of course did, Ithought it was so cute and I love Flat!
