Keiki 3 and under are free but must sit in the cabin with a parent. Wow, that was lot of stuff to type out. :)

Ok, one more Windward Mall- haven't tried this yet, but got the flyer and it sounded like fun: Winter Land

Have a romantic candlelit dinner by the Christmas tree
Make decorative sugar cookies
Sign up to purchase gifts for a needy child
Host a Christmas dessert party
Write out a Christ-centered goal to start early for the New Year
Have a movie party (classic Christmas clips)
Go to a Christmas Concert
Attend City tree lighting event
Have a full traditional breakfast while listening to Christmas music

Let's see, this is starting to get crazy buuuut: there are choir concerts at BYUH and a bell choir on Dec10th that we will be going to here in the community cuz Linda is in it and Ambrose likes bells :) and of course we have been listening to 95.5 non-stop for our Christmas music fix in the car and I have a couple holiday stations on Pandora.com- one is a sufjan stevens holiday station for my indie christmas needs, one is a Disney station for the classic cheese-fest songs we all love, and I have another that is Bing Crosby Jingle Bells inspired for the old time holiday stuff I love.... sometimes a Nutcracker one as well.

We were thinking about some Christmas crafts like a paper chain but instead a fabric chain with velcro (thank you Liko) of some felt lights on yarn (thank you Jonna) or some round felt ornaments (thank you mom)...etc. And of course it is not Christmas without a good homemade sugar cookie!

WHAT ABOUT YOU? Anything I missed? What else can we do?? :)

Kaneohe has their parade on Saturday the 5th as well- Kahuku band usually marches in it and then the Honolulu City Lights parade that evening. Busy day already though!

My kids only like Laie parades cause you get all the candy.

oh, well, i like you a lot, too. and i like basically everything you write, even giantly long list of fun things to do thousands of miles away from me. so. yeah.

melissa said...

ok, when i said "basically" i meant definitely, certainly everything. except talking about living in hawaii far away from me. so there.

yay! You're coming to the tree lighting tonight! Brooklyn will be a special dancer for the 1st graders. I have some cute patterns for embroidering felt ornaments if you're interested!

Woah, after re-reading what I wrote, i realized I used an ! after every sentence. Sorry, it's just all so exciting...

haha!! you are nuts, woman!!!

i read that same list on 'oh happy day', and every year growing up our family tradition was to hit up the Christmas lights in town (honolulu hale) on some sunday night in december and walk around, taking pictures of ourselves.
i have some Christmas stories i will read on certain nights in my advent (the mitten, the night before christmas, the nutcracker, the twelve days of Christmas, a shorter more kid-friendly version of a Christmas carol, the grinch, the best Christmas pageant ever)...make cookies for friends and neighbors, or something sweet, make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers...so many fun things to do!

I love your list. We're trying to do something Christmasy every day, but I feel like we may fall short. But this is making me think that one of my projects this next year is to make some fun advent calendar so it will all be organized beforehand.
