This year Ashley, my sister, might be coming to stay with Thomas and me for Christmas! If this dream comes true then she will not have to endure another episode like this one pictured above (my dad really likes Indian flutes and got one for Christmas two years ago, cuteness). HOORAY for her friend Nate who is making it possible and HOORAY for Ashley for choosing us!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy happy!

When was the picture taken? I didn't know that dad had one of those! I guess this is what they mean when they say a picture is worth 1000 words...
I took it Christmas morning in 2004. It was the first Christmas Thomas and I were married. Yes, that moment was too classic and a little ironic since Papel called Ashley's recorder an "expensive piece of firewood" when we went camping several years ago.

Steph, I don't know your family but this picture is really awesome. I can't stop laughing.
I have no memory of that incident, but I laughed so hard when I saw it. I want a copy of that picture so badly. I am thinking that I might come on the 18th or 19th ish and then leave on Christmas Day ish. Let me know what you think about that.
LONGER! We want you to come earlier and stay longer!!! Or the times you said, that works too. We are just excited!
Steph
your blog is absolutely delightful. not that i expected any less of you. i especially like the pictures.
WOW! Ashley the world traveler is making the rounds. We hope you have a fun filled visit. I expect to see some pics up when she does come.
Love the photo! It is such an Ashley pic.
Well, that picture is hilarious! Ashley said I would love it, and it got an out loud laugh from me. SOOOOO Funny. I must say I am jealous and thrilled for you that you get to have an Ashley Hawkins Christmas. She is better than Santa Clause, the dreidel and Kwanzaa. I had an Ashley Hawkins Christmas last year and it was fabulous! Have fun!
I am looking for an unflattering photo of the photographer as revenge but she is too photogenic. Toot, toot, the flautist.
All I can say is "classic, classic, classic." You captured my Kimball dear, my Renaissance Man, in one of his true moments. I love it!
