I just finished this novel a few minutes ago. Thomas gave it to me for my birthday back in June and I kept meaning to read it because I like Kurt Vonnegut and now I finally have. I really like his ideas and writing style in general. So far I have read this novel and Slaughter House Five by Vonnegut. I was telling Thomas that this book didn't change my life or really inspire me in any way, but was an enjoyable and bizarre read that gave me something to do while I've been up in the night lately.

i started this book and stopped--i think reading it at night must have made it seem all the more bizarre---vonnegut has this thing about him, this stigma or reputation, like emo kids i used to know like to say how cool he is, which is fine with me, he probaby is cool and maybe nice--what's that word for the people who are in your "web," who you will always somehow see or interact with? its a fun idea
Yeah- people in your karass or something like that- I like that idea too. Of cours, as he says in the beginning though, even the creator of that religion "Bokonon" said that all the ideas in that religion and that book are lies anyway. So, it's like you are not supposed to even take it seriously from the start and yet the whole story is based on those concepts. :) An amusing book, but I've read better things.
I have read about 7 or 8 books by him, and every time I do so I think to myself that will be the last one. But then I feel drawn to read another after a couple of months. Cats Cradle is one of my favorites.
i've almost read him lots of times but never did. i might now. after i read chocolat. i just finished about a boy, and i laughed and laughed during it. if you liked the movie you'll like the book because they're the same. and even though i don't fully believe the conclusions the characters come to in the end, it's nice. i know this comment is mostly irrelevant to your post. but it's at least booky.
I like it! I remember Becca and I used to watch About A Boy almost every night before and while we were falling asleep for about a month. I love that movie.
