freedom fries

So here are photos from our fourth. We went to Turtle Bay for their family day and it was a lot of fun. Ambrose was happy and good the whole time. I thought he would freak out when the booming fireworks coincided with his bedtime, but he was genuinely interested in what was going on. I caught his eyes wandering over to the lights at these rinky dink booths at one point during the amazing fireworks so I reminded him that he could stare at light-bulbs all day at home, but we had trekked out to Turtle Bay for a reason! He apologetically turned his attention back to the festivities and then we headed home. It was a great night.

Thomas has named these appropriately- here are their christian names:

Palm Tree.

Willow Tree.

Claws.

Scrambled Eggs

Fireflies.
fireflies (also happens to be the name of one of our favorite favorite lawrence arms songs)

Before the show
before the show- ambrose contemplates patriotism in a world of war and chaos- and is grateful for people who protect peace

By the way- he still wont take a bottle, but we haven't been that diligent these days (due to frustration i am sure) so it looks like thomas may be needing to get another date to see the shins play on the 23rd... we shall see.

Thank you, thank you for sharing pictures of fireworks! They were the best ones I saw this year (and only). Apparently Germans don't go all out to celebrate the 4th... anyway, the names made me laugh and I can't wait to show Andrew when he comes home! I love the photography - amazing.

I love how deep and pensive Ambrose is turning out to be. He must take after his aunt Ashley!

Don't you love it when they get all contemplative? I also love deciding what it is they are contemplating. That is my favorite.

Hahaha: "their christian names." Love it.
