after months of wanting to do so- we finally watched this last night. now i just need to get a hold of her novels. i have never read a graphic novel but it sounds like fun. the images in this movie were so interesting and well done.
I am really glad you liked it, because if you liked it there is a pretty good chance we will like it! it has been sitting in out netflix queue as well, and we have been waiting, waiting, waiting. And the books really are good.
I was just reading your past entry about your son not eating meat then he ate Ribs. I think he is like Evelyn only like good cut of meat. Evelyn loves Ribs too if I made it very tender. She is getting better now she starts to eat Chicken which is a big step for her.
i thought i had the opportunity to watch said movie lined up, but my friend got rid of it before i got the chance... grr...
when i went to listen to satrapi speak, one thing i thought was hilarious was that she hates the term "graphic novel." she adamantly insisted that she creates comics, and she doesn't care how low-brow that might sound. now that's what i call some great literary slumming.
i love that because the term graphic novel sounds like it is really violent or racy or something equally awkward- so comics- yeah- i can hang with that! that is so so so cool that you got to hear her speak! man, first her then david sedaris- get with it hawaii! boise is a literary metropolis.
I was fortunate enough to see this one in the theater when it came out. I was living in LA at the time. That's the one big plus about living in a large city, everything is at your fingertips.
