if motherhood is a job then I DO LIKE WORKING AFTERALL!

after a delightful time at lunch ladies today amby and i decided to stop at kekelas and run around the grassy area for a couple of hours. we had no toys with us, no one around, and laughed so hard! then we came home and ate a snack, he was rubbing his eyes and acting a little cross so i changed his diaper, sang to him, and placed him in his crib where he threw a 50-minute fit (i was typing up stuff for work and trying to ignore him). suddenly, i had an epiphany: HE'S NOT THAT TIRED I GUESS! ha!

so i promptly ran to his room, swung open the door and was greeted by a rattled bubba. i ran over to him and scooped him up as he hugged me tightly around my neck with both chubby arms and kissed my cheeks over and over, giggling quietly at first and then loudly as the psychological trauma of the last 50 minutes melted away.Lookout!

we cuddled on the couch and read books until matti called and then joined her for a late afternoon at the BYUH pool.

i had fun trying to come up with ways to entertain him into forgetting he was a little uncertain and chilly in the pool. he forgot he was uncertain and chilly after a few laps in the shallow end with me as i worked off my taco bell lunch.

then we came home and spent time with "da!" (the delightful thomas robertson) for the rest of the evening until bedtime (think: books, hide and seek, amby wearing only a diaper and his hightop shoes he is insisting on wearing every chance he gets, and lots of monkey tricks performed all around).

this is the best time of my life. i know i will look back on these sweet, easy, care free golden days and feel blessed always. We have been eaten!

your blog is such a source of warm fuzzy pleasantry, and for me, even comfort.

i love this post.

the other day i was bathing wrennie (we may or may not have both been in the tub) and i called to martin that our lives are so perfect. he said he was thinking the exact same thing. these times are GOLD. the only way they could be better for me is if we lived a little closer to our favorite friends (and if we were filthy rich, that could definitely enhance things a little).

your words remind me how i should look for the joy in the simple things. i remember when i was working and being a mom, and it makes the time you spend with your kids a lot more precious. now that i am staying home, it gets harder to decipher and remember that this time is valuable. i take it for granted and get so tired sometimes. i admire you for reminding me about how special it is to be a mother.

That is what life is all about. Finding the joy in EVERY moment and then writing it down so we never forget! How blessed us mommies are!

Last night Neil & I were saying how great things are for us now and how they won't be like this forever -- once little ones are in the picture. Which made me sad. Thanks for always reminding me of how happy (and yes, different -- but happy) things can become!

so well said, my same-named friend. we, being case and i, oft speak of the treasures that are these days. little ones scurrying about our feet. messes everywhere. odd forms of english. really, it's what life's all about.

and the picture of ambi is absolutely wonderful. love love love the wood "planks", as well as the cute little critter sitting on them.

yeah, i spell it with a Y, but it doesnt really matter since it will hopefully only be a nickname we force upon him in toddlerhood since it isnt very masculine either way it's spelled :)
