dear joanns fabrics,

i never thought you were much to fuss about growing up, but now that i live in the land of aloha print only (with rare exception)...

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

thanks for letting me breeze and float around your shop today.... stroking fabrics and freaking out over your vast selection.

and you had some good sales too.

i now have fabric for two yard sale skirts and two trapeze dresses from heather ross' weekend sewing. oh yeah, and some fabric for a clutch from bend the rules sewing. and a bunch of other pieces of fabric for other random projects.

we had fun today didnt we? if you move to hawaii i promise we can hang out all the time and i'll even introduce you to fifty friends of mine who want you just as bad as i do.

you are beautiful, you crafty thing, you.

love always,
stephanie

wow, no joanne in hawaii? bummer. we've got a higher-end fabric store that i love to browse, but 99% of my purchases come from our girl joanne's.

i'm sewing right NOW with fabric from joanne's actually.

um, you should go back and pick some up for me!!
i miss you jo-ann

when you make that trapeze dress i want to come over or something cause i have been wanting to make it too. liko made a copy of the pattern for me like months ago and i just haven't gotten to it yet so maybe if we do it together it will for sure get done.

Dear Stephanie,
Thanks for coming over. When you were growing up I knew we'd end up being friends.

Good work! Now you're making me miss the "Mainland" too :) It's funny the things like Jo-Ann Fabrics that we take for granted. The other night I was shopping Target.com and I was like, "Neil, when we go back, I want to go to Target at like 10 at night before they close and just browse the makeup aisle for an hour." I miss stuff like that :) Have fun!!

joann's, why don't you move here so we can meet? whaddya say? yes, i am already looking forward to my next oregon trip. used to only look forward to being outdoorsy and seeing family, now i can add 'load up on awesome fabric' to that list. and no sales tax, too! oh, don't know when that trip will take place, but already doing my homework as to which fabric stores to hit up...lucky you, steph. and i can't wait to check out your finds!!!

oh yes I spent many a hour browsing her isles. got lots of stuff, but unfortunately with no patterns in mind and now I still don't have enough fabric to make stuff because I didn't buy enough. oops oh well! I will make something in small amounts. or I will have a lot of cute skirts. thats good too!

i amazed that joanne's talked back.

isn't it funny how much you can appreciate the greatness of such a store once you live here? If we could just get JoAnns and Ikea I'd be ever so happy!!!
