our westside story

we rolled up to the west side today. i'm always so fascinated. it looks nothing like the hawaii many of you imagine and yet, i really really love so much about it.

oh waipahu, quit glaring at me. i may not be filipino, but my son is named ambrose and i once knew a very kind and helpful man named ambrose who was, you guessed it, filipino, so that's got to count for something.

i love you waipahu.

today me and ambrose killed time at this lovely strip mall in waipahu while thomas and asher dropped off some stuff for work.

it was awesome to say the very least.

and then we went to the kapolei target and got the fluffiest towels you ever did feel for our new bathroom and had lunch. then it was on to kunia where i got all the supplies for our christmas stockings that i'm making hopefully soon.

oh relax. i know i still havent started the bedspread i told you i was making.

but i will.

these are more timely.

and then our van needed a little jumpy jump because the iPod drained it's battery so the boys and i played in a nearby field

while thomas took care of the car things men take care of.

and that's it. good saturday.

I must say I noticed and love your shoes in the last post and here, too -- remember my friend Linsi gave me the same ones, and I literally wore them out! So sad!! And now they don't make them anymore. So enjoy them while you can, even if you wish you were in slippahs! And p.s., love the music -- totally reminds me of your Laie wedding reception. Can't believe that was already five years ago.

what a good saturday. Too bad we didn't run into you in kapolei...we was there too. But, it's probably for the best, cause I probably would have tried to grab your bum...and boy, wouldn't that be embarassing. Especially if it was caught on camera.

Oh, and for the record, I wasn't grabbing you bum. I was mid-funny hand gesture and the photo was taken too soon. ;-(

Oh man... you are seriously such a beauty. I'm sorry I haven't been commenting lately. :(. When I read what you write I think you are really right on about a lot of things.

Aww man, I haven't seen this part of waipahu since I got married :) Made me think of all the fun things and great food I had there! Did you guys go to savers? I may be bias, but I feel like that saver's is the best on the island-- it's not as ghetto as the one on dilligham, but ghetto enough to where nobody outside of waipahu likes to venture over there, so it still has a lot of great stuff there. A lot of people dont know that if you take the time to explore waipahu, and not let the shady appearance of it all not get to you, you can find some really cool little mom and pops stores :)

Thanks for the awesome pictures :) Oh! and that little dress shop that you took a picture of is pretty cool, with each dress, they give you a free pair of shoes!

love LOVE days like this. can't wait to see your stockings! I made us some back before we had kiddos and just wasn't up for making them when henry was born. so I did the naughty thing and ordered them from PB. and yes, I can hear Phoebe Buffay in my head right now talking about the evils of PB yet wanting the lamp that I don't have from them all at the same time. =)
