Oh moms.

Well, I wanted to post about how we went to this really cool teacher supply store in Honolulu and bought a bunch of fun educational things for a little Mama School I am doing with Ambrose this summer, but then I hesitated because of the Moms.

Who mostly reads blogs? Moms.

Love 'em. They make-up most of my friend count. They are the most selfless creatures on the planet.

And sometimes they totally suck. I include myself in this category of social ineptitude, because after all, I am a mom as well.

Because Moms have sacrificed everything for their kids it's super easy to feel competitive, insecure, jealous, or annoyed when people post stuff like this... without even trying. It's just how we Moms are. It's the least lovable thing about us.

So, I'll refrain from all the details and spare myself an eye roll or inane comment from a Mom who's feeling insecure about how much TV her kids are watching while she surfs blogland today. (Mine are currently enjoying some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. What-up new cable! Oh calm down, we're going to library story time in 20 minutes.)

But if any Mamas out there are interested, check-out your nearest teacher supply store if you're looking for fun/educational stuff to do with your kiddos this summer! We are having a lot of fun with it and have already learned so much just with a few new supplies. It's awesome! Ok, I've already said too much.

As you were Moms. Back to your organic snacks, Baby N' Me Mandarin classes, and $2,000 strollers. ;)

Love it!!
Can I come study English from you? Maybe I can become a Sophisticated writer like you! I had personality conflict with my last English Nazi... I mean teacher. Can I come for a mama lesson or two?

Love it!!! Is that the education works store? That place is awesome. I think they still have one in Mapunapuna next to the toyota dealership. My cousin and I would go there with my aunty at the end of every summer so she could get stuff for her classroom.

Oh my friend, you said it like it is. The blog-o-sphere is a dangerous place. Every once in a while I fast from reading blogs and realize that my life is really good even if I don't sew all my kids' clothes, decorate my home with homemade crafts for every holiday, bake cookies and bread every week, buy everything using coupons, cook everything from scratch, host super elaborate parties, exercise every day and maintain a size 0, etc. Yeah, my life is good regardless of all that. My life is good because of my man, my little people, and all the love.

Um hi. Now that we're parking it at my parents house we are all in cable tv heaven... we're huge fans of jake and the pirate and detective agent oso.

Amen sister! There is nothing more sad and frustrating than people (in general) who compare. It does not make life fun for anyone! The nice thing, once you have experienced it and how much it SUCKS then you can show up differently for those around you! Nice job.

steph, i don't have enough friends to know that moms are like that. are moms like that really really, like deep down?

now excuse me while i puree some ingredients to make homemade baby food because store bought isn't good enough for my angel. just kidding. except i really do do that. so not kidding.

Oh but I would still love a post!! I go into my education store and walk out with nothing cause I have no idea what to buy there. But I totally totally totally totally get what you mean. I don't do anything cool with my kids so i don't worry about that too much, but I'm pretty careful about the "things" I put on my blog bc it gets pretty dicey when talking about anything that costs more than your average walmart item...

I have never set foot in an educational supply store . . . but I would love a $2000 stroller. Seriously. What kind of mom am I? Hope you got your grading done. Ugh.
