today's super deep thought

There's definitely a hierarchy of Halloween candy isn't there.

And it is the same for me today as it was way back when my sisters and I would pour out our bags after a night of trick-or-treating, categorizing the spoils into piles that made sense to us, bartering with the wisdom of seasoned pirates...

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups have been and will always be at the top of the charts for me

and

I'm sorry to say, because I hate to hurt it's feelings, but the good old tootsie roll (The plain kind that look like this: not the flavored ones. Those are pure YUM.) in all it's simplicity and in spite of it's good natured endurance will always be dead last. Maybe even after all the well meaning pencils, raisins, pretzels, and bouncy balls some diluted souls talk themselves into handing out.

Sorry tootsie roll. It wouldn't be Halloween without you, and you're a welcome sight come next week when all the better candy is gone, but you're last place. Right next to mysterious hard candies that have no discernible flavor. Yep.

you know what i strangely like? those gross peanut butter toffees that look like salt water toffee.

i made nate take all of our leftover candy to work with him today because i know for a fact i would have eaten it all today if it had been home with me. (reese's, butterfinger and nerds)

nothing like a peanut butter cup straight outta the cool fridge.

snickers, twix, and milky way are up there on my list.

i was never a fan of candy corn.

i need to stick up for my poor tootsie roll.
i kinda like him. but i must admit it is hard to like a hawaiian tootsie roll.
but the long skinny ones, i love those ones when they are fresh and not sticking to the wrapper or melted into the seat.

Mmmm it's the smarties at the bottom for me. Tootsie rolls are a close second place though.

Your little christmas elf is so dang cute!

love tootsie rolls.
smarties were at my bottom too, like stated above.

We'd sort them all out too. By colors, lollipops, chocolates, chewies, and then put them in separate jars and hide them from brothers and sisters.
I miss that!

Ha! Great post. Especially the categorizing and bartering of loot. So true.

Twix at the top, pixi stix at the bottom. Always and forever.
