Pick two please.

*Good, patient, attentive mother

*Thorough house cleaner

*Cook each meal and never pick-up take-out or fast food

*Doting wife who anticipates her husband's needs and wants

*Organized and inspiring college English teacher

* In-tuned, thoughtful, and friendly 1st Counselor in the Relief Society

*Fit, healthy-eater who makes time to stretch, relax, and hit up all the food groups

*Laundress (gag me, ugh)

*A friend who can be there, listen, show-up, and follow-through

*Creative in any way shape or form

*Well read and writes regularly

*Reads scriptures everyday, says every prayer, seeks out service, and attends the temple regularly

*Am I missing something?  Oh, person who does not miss anything...

Someone please pick two of these things and I will work on them.  Thomas don't read this- you're so nice you'll probably try and do all the other 11 just to help me out.  Erase this from your thoughtful memory T-Rob!

I can only do well two at a time.  Otherwise I get cranky.  Real real cranky.  How do you all do it?!

#1 Reads Scriptures, say prayers, etc (because I think doing this will help you do a majority of the other choices better)
#2Laundress (just because thats obviously the one you want to do the least which in my world is the one I would tackle first because it makes the rest seem easy;P)

And if your question was rhetoric...than forget what I said because you are PERFECT and don't need to change a thing:D

Ha... oh, I can relate, though I'm sure I have less things to do than you, it's still the never ending list of things I want to do BETTER and how I want to BE BETTER! I think the irony here, (although I don't know that many of your friends)is that it seems that you DO do it all, maybe the trick is just doing two at a time and the rotating through :)

That last comment came out ackward, by saying I don't know too many of your friends I meant that despite not knowing them I would imagine that they see you as I do, as someone who is really with it!

I pick
1: read scriptures, prayer... etc.
2: creativity one

that way you will be happy (or at least I would). Those around me tend to be happy when I'm happy.

or just don't do anything. haha

oh man, i know what you mean. today was a "pick zero" kind of day for me.

I also had a pick zero day. Some (rare) days are pick 4 or 5, but I'm also not a counselor, teacher, or pregnant. And exercise? HA! Moderation (rotation?) is always the answer?

I pick the scripture one and the first one, the mother one. Forget the rest:)....

Those are the only two I do.... You think I'm kidding but I'm not!

Don't forget "grow a baby" because that one can suck out all the life like nothing else. I generally shoot for around 75% on most things. I mean the laundry will get done because eventually I will run out of clean underwear, but it will stay in the basket most likely unfolded until I run out of clean underwear again and need the basket.

Uh, we absolutely don't do it. None of us. We wonder how YOU do it all, so it's nice to know you get cranky like I do too :).

Reads scriptures everyday one and being a good mother. Those are the most important things right? plus I always feel like if i do the spiritual stuff everything else falls into place.

I agree with a few others, the only two important ones are reading scriptures daily and being a good mother. I think sometimes we get so bogged down by all the other things in life that we forget what our purpose here on earth is and what is most important.

wow, i feel you have explained my predicament - this is my life lately!! except maybe i can just do one of those...
at the end of my short, three day work week, i can just feel wiped out, spread too thin, over-scheduled -- whatever you wanna call it.
then i am still wife, mommy, housekeeper, young women first counselor, and i still schedule out-calls (only when my kids are in school on my off-days and ONLY if i am feeling up to it!), trying to also work on my fitness because i need to in order to stay sane!, and attempting to do it all with a good attitude.
but i miss being a reliable friend. i feel that's a thing of the past, put off by other priorities. but i am a firm believer in putting church and family first. because nothing else can compensate for failures in those areas!
love you.

This post is so true. Some days I can do like four, some barely one. At least we get to wake up everyday and try again!

i feel like I do none of those on A LOT of days..I want to but so busy! I feel like if I get 10% done on my list then I've done something and then I gotta start all over again the next day. You are amazing and no one is perfect! Especially not me! We can try and that's all that matters!

Can I add one? *read The Happiness Project. If you haven't read it yet, it's a great great reminder/motivator to take things one at a time, figure out what you need to be really happy, and then just do it! I'm only 3 months into the year-long book but I'm really really enjoying it and finding it's helping me prioritize.

Also, you are awesome.

Wow! This is really really true. Thank you for posting this. I feel the same way, and when I dont get it all done I can be too hard on myself. I live all the comments too! Great post. You are such a good writer.

Dear Steph, thanks for being human. It makes me love you that much more. And though you may not be all these things all the time, you are, none-the-less, all these things. You have inspired me spiritually. I have seen you as mommy-in-action. Amazing. You are an enormous blessing to the women you serve... And their families. Mark still talks about how good those cookies were. You have blessed my life out-of-the-blue at times you would have never known I needed a friend. My two cents- focus on growing that baby, take care of your family and stay close to the Lord... He will help to fill in the rest.
