maybe i shouldnt have worn this shirt today

the sun certainly didnt need any encouragement from me - it has been HOT with a capital H! but someone is teething

and needed a fun diversion and really how can you say no to that face:

or those hopeful little eyes:

so out we went in search of some fun.
too bad asher fell asleep straight away. he loves watching the scenery.... and his mama sweat. :) i rolled up my pants like a big dork:

which you can kind of see in this ambrose taken picture, but if you are wondering just how funny i looked, you just need to see ambrose's reaction:

got it?
anyway, we wanted to end up at this playground:

but if you look closely you can see that the clever faculty townhouse kids covered it in tarps and tents and made their own fall break shanty town, which is completely awesome! ambrose was cheering, "tents! tents! camping!" but by their weary looks i could tell they didnt want a two-and-a-half year old godzilla stomping around on their fun so we headed to the TVA playground and found these hooligans engaged in a full-blown "good guy priate game" as they informed me.

i asked them if they needed anyone to sweep their deck and shoved ambrose in their direction. they replied that that was the whole reason they invited their little sister to be part of the crew. so, i said, "how about a cook? he makes a mean pot of soup!" ambrose was still stunned that so many grown-up boys were talking to us so he stood in awe by my side. they said, "yeah, send him aboard" with a shrug and just like that he was a pirate- even if his mom did have pants rolled up to her knees.

i thought: what sweet, quaint children playing such a classic little boy game. it's like a scene out of peter pan or something- until one of them noticed my camera phone picture taking and yelled, "hey, is that an iPhone?" ha! quaint indeed.

our house is a sauna. i sweat just breathing. icky.
and that comment cracks me up - "is that an iphone!?"
oh, technology. sometimes i wish there was no such thing...
hot there?!? it has been cold-ish here. i am so happy to be getting back there when winter is starting to set in here!
ash is starting to look like amby i think. and teething? not fun!
and thanks for the murphy's, i love to see what new song you have everyday! they are always super.
Ummmm... I WANT ASHER.
Please?
The playground is a funny place socially speaking. Taj almost always comes to me when other kids show up and says he likes it when it's just us. I always tell him he can stay by me, but he'll end up playing with the other kids and never want to leave. I'm glad it was a good time with the "big kids."
