another great thing about having a photographer husband:

You don't have to wonder what exactly the boys are up to when you are away at work...

All you have to do is browse lightroom late at night when you can't sleep.

Ughh, these pictures make me sad because all these stay-at-home Mama moments that I love are happening while I'm getting eye rolls and sighs as I beg college freshman to care about syntax in essays at work. In heels that hurt my feet.

1. I think the beginning of the semester always feels this way.
2. If it doesn't get fun soon I'm for sure not sacrificing time with my kids for it next semester.
3. I need to find some cute work shoes that don't make me limp to my car after standing for two classes straight.
4. I do, however, LOVE the hugs and kisses I get right as I get home. I'm all about being smothered by two precious little boys and frankly no one's voice sounds cuter than Ambrose's when I've had almost 3 whole hours away from him.
5. I don't know how to be away from my kids any longer- if feels like I'm missing a limb or like I'm pretending to be something I'm not.
6. I think this is what we call transition, but I don't want to get used to being away from them. I don't want them to get used to being without me.
7. Enough. This is late night babble. I love my kids and usually this little part-time gig. We'll see...

Ohhhhhawwwwwweee :D I LOVE these pictures. SOOOOO PRECIOUS!! Melt my heart. I especially love that first pic of Asher with the crayons. The Montessori course I'm taking has me just dying to be around kids. Eventually we will get to.

I love how concentrated they both are in so many of these pics.. and then Asher's sweetest smile. Yes, I had to look at them again.

oops.. 3rd comment... I really didn't mean to pass over your heartfelt words. I hope that things get better but if they don't it seems like you have a good resolution.

the only numeral that i have personal knowledge about is the shoes and i have one pair of high heels that i love for this very reason: i can wear them all the way through church 9 1/2 months pregnant. i'm serious! they're so comfortable. and they were really really uncomfortable for about two years, but they're leather and now they fit like a dream. yeah, i bought them in like 2005 but whatever. so that doesn't actually help you (i just wanted to brag, actually).

i already feel anxiety about the other (real) issue here, and all i can say is you're doing a good job.

and do call me later so i can tell you about MEETING KORI. you will die.

Oh my goodness, you took the words right out of my mouth. I can't tell you how many times I told Jesse (whilst working full-time), I'm sure I will get used to this. But I DON'T WANT TO!!!

All will be well, friend. I think you have a good plan. And don't belittle late-night babble. I have some of my most significant epiphanies through late-night babble sessions.

I love those pictures. You husband is kind of a photographic hero of mine. And find some comfy shoes quick, it will change your whole day. I can't believe how big your boys are getting!

Aww, Steph, I know what you mean. Totally. Balancing work and kids just plain ol' sucks.

Just think of your job as a time your boys get to bond with just their Dad because that's a cool opportunity for them. And getting to teach at BYUH is such a cool opportunity. I'd say you're a lucky gal.

And as far as teaching in some comfy shoes, I got a pair of Naturalizer from Famous Footwear last year. They are super cute and super comfy. Worth trying, at least.

I know how you feel about working and being away from your kids but like everyone else is saying, the boys get to spend time with their dad, you have an awesome gig working at BYUH so close to home AND you're contributing to their livelihood!

as for shoes...since we live in beautiful Hawaii, I just wear slippers to school/work. (unless there's a teacher dress code at BYUH... then I can't help you)

Good luck!

precious priceless stuff.

i feel your pain.

I like your new border. It's wavy.

I would call it transition, but stay true to your feelings throughout the semester and then you will know what you need to do.

feel you buddy. and i know you know what's right for you and your fam and that you'll follow your heart.

and

...i put wren in time out this morning for wanting to be with me (i had to go to work). i wish my clients could see those moments when they are "waiting on their pictures."

I can totally relate to you feeling like you're pretending to be something that you're not. I feel that too when I go to work. Not so fun sometimes. It's always nice to come home to boys who love me and think I'm the best thing in the world! Good luck with your class!
