Want to see what we've been up to?

Too many photos, but I couldn't leave a single one out.  This has been a great month.  It's a beautiful, full life!  Even the moments where too many people whined, or fought, or cried, or yelled, or didn't try to understand each other... it's all a part of our story.  Oh and these are all out of order- how fitting.

16 weeks

Date night with Thomas to Liliha Bakery in town and then This American Life at Dole Cannery theaters!  One of the greatest nights on record.  Love you Thomas!

We met Aunty Sheila, Makana, Aunty Liko, and Aunty Chante for lunch after May Day!

Ambrose can ride his bike without training wheels now!

On Mothers Day Ambrose got mad at his mom and dad and so he made this sign and posted it! "No dads in my rum (room) and mom can not gin (go in)"- HA!  The two grumps at the bottom of the picture are Thomas and I... of course.

Date night to Kincaid's Fish, Chop & Steak House.  YUM!

18 weeks in the cute bathroom at Hawaiian Brian's before the UY Farewell show.

UY played their final show.  It was bittersweet.  The place was packed with loving friends and fans.  I will have better images soon!

We love Aligator Pond with friends!

Our family got a little grill off Craigslist and has been slightly obsessed with grilling everything in sight ever since.  It's been a tasty, smoky couple of weeks.

This was a particularly fun morning with one of our favorite families to hang-out with: The Bradshaws!  I find excuses to hang around them and observe life with four kids- three of which are boys.  I am taking notes!  So is Asher by the looks of this photo.

You know it's summer if our yard is littered with all manner of kiddie pool/water slide creations.

Ambrose and I used our Kama'aina passes to get into the night show this week for a date.  We even ate a pineapple delight!  I like to spoil my kids in little ways.

This was taken right before Asher's ENT appointment.  We found the most sugary pastry at Whole Foods and he ate it.  Atta boy.

These are my awesome students demonstrating forced equality from Vonnegut's Harrison Bergeron

A fun day with Sheila, Echo, and kids at Koolina to check out the new Disney resort!

A couple of weeks ago Ambrose's preschool went to the Sesame Street exhibit at Bishop Museum.  Grandma and Grandpa Robertson came too!

These kids.  I tell you what.  So proud of their cushion mountain.

First time we used our precious little grill.  Success!

My creative homies at Pinterest Night!  We are for sure doing this again!

We had the UY families over for Sunday dinner.  The kids got all riled up and kept putting ridiculous shows on for us that had Kristen dizzy and everyone else in tears we were laughing so hard!

It's not FHE unless someone cries, but here's the happy highlights!

Here's another fun day from this semester: discussing imagery in Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory.

My three babies in one picture.

My pal Jackie throws the most amazing parties.  This one was a pirate theme (duh) where they built a life-sized ship for the kids!

We have another fun friend named Cassie at Turtle Bay who invites us to swim in the pool by her condo.  She has the best life ever.  We like to go over there and be a part of it all.

Speaking of Turtle Bay- the band wives got to spend a weekend relaxing there thanks to Adam and Kristen and their awesome discount.  It was the greatest pre-Mother's Day celebration.

Echo and I even got to sneak over to Teds Bakery for breakfast while everyone else slept in.
Ok, I guess that's it for now.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Uneventful Fall Break

Hawaii has a Fall Break. You Idahoans will understand, what with your potato harvest and all. Ours is just one week and I had a zoo trip, waterpark day, maybe even Bishop Museum with the grandparents....etc week planned...

and then we all took turns having the flu.

So much for my flu shot eh? Thanks for nothing Foodland pharmacy.

Anyway, we didn't do anything and anytime I thought we were well enough to do something I was always a little sorry in the end as I held a crying child all the way home from the elementary school fall break play performance and whatnot.

It wasn't all bad though.

We tried out some possible Halloween costumes

Hung up some spooky bats (they have since all fallen down because of my safety tape and have been displayed elsewhere)

And in desperation one day I took the invalids to Costco for a quick trip. Nature called to Ambrose on the way home somethin' fierce so we had to pull over in a pineapple field and I had to take a picture because I am mature and discreet. He'll thank me someday I'm sure.

Not a bad week I guess.

A pretty (fun) week anyway

Upstanding Youth groupies gettin all sassy.

Biking to work.

These three gents picked me up from work Monday night so we could have FHE at the Seasider and ride bikes home together.

It's been annoyingly hot lately.... maybe it just feels so insulting because everyone else is getting fall colors... at any rate, to beat the heat I channeled my inner six-year-old instead of shaving my head. This is the only time in history that Hello Kitty buns have ever been considered the sensible alternative.

Tried and True recipe friends, I made Taylor's Orange Chicken and Fried Rice! Have you? I was always too intimidated in the past, but I DID IT!

Sorry for the nast picture. It doesn't look that appealing here, but IT WAS AMAZING! I kinda felt like Top Chef for a night. Make it. You won't be sorry.

Asher didn't even touch it. So I put him in playground prison.

KIDS! I know that they would love 97% of the things I make if they would just TRY IT.

Oh! And we started a new tradition of making a special family dinner and having a crazy sleepover in the family room for General Conference weekend.

Confession: Once the boys actually settled down Thomas and I crept to our room and slept in our own bed.... so we cheated... but those kids roll around in their sleep and take up ALL the mattress. Next General Conference I think I'll just make a big bed on the floor with tons of blankets and then I'll actually sleep out there. Promise.

Well, that's about it for this week.... except for it's suddenly starfruit season again.

Have a juicy week.

This week on Instagram

Sorry if these are boring, I just like having all of them saved in one place. And I'm sure my Mama likes to see them! Ok, excuses done. Here they are.
Four and a half is enough reason for cake?

He made a friend out of cardboard. He named him ROM.

So he made a hat out of an envelope.

And then he made a motor boat so he could take the strainer out to catch fish.

All this crafting made us hungry for Waialua Bakery. We thought of you Megan Walton.

An apparently dark day in Haleiwa.

Some good pals took me out to preview Moneyball. It's a really great movie.

Asher heard me talking about G&G Hawkins visiting around New Years.

And we were busting with so much excitement we decided to do a volcano experiment to pass the time.

So we got out some energy at the crazy playground

and attended the best shark and mermaid party ever!

The end!
