you want red faced? you got it!

if i run down the hall my face turns red. it's something to depend upon.
ok, here's ambrose to tell the tale of our big race:
we got to cruise around before the race. i thought i would help my mom warm up by making her chase me all around the parking lot.

during the run i let my dad chase me around.

after thirty minutes had passed (i'm an excellent judge of time for my age) my mom came back and i was so excited to see her i ran up to her with a huge grin on my face and it made her cry. she is so so weird.

after i got my mom back a really nice lady insisted on taking our family portrait even though no one in my family really wanted their picture taken just then.

mostly i just wanted all the treats they gave my mom after- like this jamba juice:

well, she finished 3.1 miles in 30 minutes and 30 seconds and her mile average was 9 minutes and 50 seconds, which she is OK with for her first race, but feels like she will do better next time. she told me that running with a bunch of dorks that take themselves too seriously and some nice people is way different than running by herself or with me around our neighborhood. she is excited to do it again. i am too! but first i need to rest, what a big day, i'm all tuckered out!

Well I am very impressed! Great job. I wish I could be that motivated and in shape. You are inspiring me to get my butt up and workout!

Yeay! I think an under-10-minute-mile is great! I wish I wish I wish I did it with you! I'll have to post pictures of my first race! (whenever that is). oh, envy.

in the words of jamie prigmore, boo ya grandma (not that you look like a grandma). what a fantastic narrative. you had to have noticed the sassy look ambrose was giving the camera in the nobody wanted their picture taken family portrait. hahahaha

i'm touched thinking of you crying at the sight of ambrose running toward you.

hooray for steph!! red-faced?? i don't see that in your pictures at all! despite how tan i look, i get really red in the face, too. seriously. i thought your time was really good, i think i run/walk a 20 min. mile, give or take a few...we will see if i can improve on that...

Congratulations! You are so fit. I like your ponytail & Ambrose's face in the photo where you're holding him. Like Liko said, I too get an unusually red face for how tan I am -- it really alarms people.
